Cameron Smith

We asked Cameron some Questions .........

What's your favourite song ever? -
That's a difficult one, there are so many great songs ....but Elton John's 'Sacrifice' would certainly be in my top 3!

Favourite thing to do when not in work? -
Enjoying the beautiful countryside across the Blackmore Vale, especially a bracing walk over the Mere Downs in the middle of winter with a stop off at the Red Lion at Kilmington!!

What's your favourite meal? -
Onion Bhaji & a Chicken Bhuna Curry - yum!

Here's a man on a mission, as Cameron's interests in the entertainment world started at a very early age.  At just 11 he had his own magic show, travelling to numerous children's parties and functions.  On leaving college, he joined the family business on the Isle of Wight and found himself with a captive audience - a Wax Museum! However, the wax held little magic of its own for him and his interest in live performance and music took over, leading him in 1985 to reach the top ten in the regional final of the National Competition 'Disc Jockey of the Year' coming third in the South of England final.

This quickly led to presentation work on BBC Radio Solent.  A year later, in 1986 he joined the P&O Cruise Liner 'Canberra' touring the Med and Caribbean as ship's DJ and Radio Presenter.  Having picked up a tan and travelled the world, he returned to the UK and joined the team at Newcastle's Metro Radio broadcasting to the North East of England.  After five successful years presenting across the network of Metro and Radio Tees, he returned to the Isle of Wight  broadcasting to his native 'Island'

You can hear Cameron on Breakfast every weekday morning 7am - 12noon, in a show that's packed with great music, local news and gossip and the best competitions and prizes anywhere!
