The infamous Ladies Driving Challenge is back Marie Curie is once again offering the ladies of Somerset the Chance to behind the wheel of some of the most unusual and challenging vehicles you'll ever dream of driving - anything from an HGV, a double decker bus to a milk float or JCB!
The event supported by Mid West Radio is a great day out for the ladies of Somerset giving them the chance to drive a variety of seven vehicles or more around the 4 mile circuit at Merryfield airfield, Ilminster. We have everything from Fire engines, articulated lorries, double decker buses to Combine Harvesters and Steam Engines? All ladies will be given tuition by the vehicle owner before setting off around the course; it is not about lap times but shear enjoyment of the whole experience.

We'll put you through your paces when you join us in our Ladies Driving Challenge at Merryfield Airfield, off the A358 between Ilminster and Taunton on Saturday March 6th 2010. Experienced drivers will help you get to grips with an array of vehicles - from police cars to tractors. Experience this unusual challenge as an individual or have a group it's a great day out with the girls!
We ask all participants to raise a minimum of £100 each and there is a registration fee of £10 per entrant. All monies will go towards Marie Curie Cancer Care in Somerset who provide high quality nursing, totally free, to give terminally people the choice to die at home supported by their families. In addition to providing highly-valued nursing care for the patient, Marie Curie Nurses are also there to give emotional support and advice to the family. Marie Curie Cancer Care depends on the generosity of the public and we really need your help.
