Lowland Games site wrecked

Police are investigating a double-arson and vandalism attack surrounding the Lowland Games venue near Langport.

The clear-up will continue today at the site of the Lowland Games near Langport.

The event, in fields at Thorney, was held over the weekend but on Wednesday morning organisers found the marquee had been demolished by vandals.

They used a digger to do it, a caravan there was also deliberately set fire to and destroyed and a classic truck had its windows smashed in.

It could be linked to an arson attack on a barn in nearby Muchelney on the same night.

It belonged to one of the organisers of the games, police are investigating.
