Police base gets planning
Outline planning permission's been granted for a major new police base near Bridgwater.
Plans have been passed for a major new police base near Bridgwater.
Sedgemoor District Councillors have only given outline approval so far.
The force's special operations will be based there such as firearms and dogs and it'll include 36 custody cells which will eventually take over from those in Taunton and Bridgwater.
A spokesman said the special custody unit on the new site will mean officers bringing in detainees will be able to get straight back out on patrol again.
