National Grid wants to hang up to 40 miles of new cables between Hinkley Point and Avonmouth but the idea's sparked strong local opposition with calls that they should be laid underground or along the sea bed instead.
The Grid's now u-turned on similar plans for a 50-mile strip between Grimsby and Boston in Lincolnshire.
It's expected to announce they'll be buried instead.
