A Dorset-based Australian sportsman, charged with sexual assault, has had his trial date set.

A Dorset-based Australian sportsman, charged with sexual assault, has had his trial date set.

Darcy Ward is his country's under-21 champion in speedway and is currently signed with the Poole Pirates.

The 19 year-old, who has given Bournemouth Crown Court a Sturminster Newton address, was arrested after a complaint after an incident in Poole in August.

His co-defendent is a Swindon 17 year-old charged with rape.

They're due in the dock on May 8th.
