Victory for windfarm campaigners

A highly controversial plan for massive wind turbines near Gillingham has been thrown out.
There've been celebrations in a handful of North Dorset villages today as a plan for a nearby wind farm is thrown out.
On Thursday district councillors rejected an application to build six 120 metre high turbines on land at Silton near Gillingham.
They declined it on the grounds it was too close to houses, wasn't actually in a spot that was windy enough and that it would effect tourism to the area.
Over 2000 letters of objection were received.
