Rotary Shoe Box Appeal
Midwest/Rotary Shoe Box Appeal The collection of Shoeboxes for this year's Rotary International Shoebox Appeal came to an end at 10am on Tuesday 4th November. Midwest Radio was inundated with shoeboxes, beautifully wrapped and packed with toys, stationary & items of clothing which, later this month, will be sent out to disadvantaged children in Romania, Tanzania and Montenegro just in time for Christmas. Local Rotary Clubs will be taking thousands of boxes to a central depot in Romsey, before their journey to Eastern Europe and Africa. Many thanks to all our collection points around Blandford and the Vale and to everyone who supported this year's appeal by making up a box. Next year we hope to extend this appeal accross the whole of our broadcast area.
