In it's second year the Yeovil Half Marathon event takes to the streets of Yeovil on Sunday March 25th 2012.  Yeovil Half Marathon starts and finishes at Huish Park, home of Yeovil Town FC.  Following the overwhelming success, of the first Yeovil Half Marathon in 2011. Total Buzz Events are delighted to be able to confirm the 2012 date.
 
The town got behind the 2011 event in some style, with the route being lined with spectators, with  the spectator ‘Hot Spots’ having live music to keep the athletes motivated.
 
With a few minor tweaks, the event will retain the same route as 2011, including the unique King of the Hill contest.
 
The event will in 2012 be run as a UK Athletics Event, with the focus on a fun, safe and affordable  event.
 
Cash Prizes will be awarded to Male and Female winners, and King of the Hill winners. In addition prizes available for overall, and King of the Hill course record breakers. This year there will be a Club/Team prize kindly donated by Nuffield Health. Local runner prizes donated by Goldenstones Leisure and Ironbridge Runner. The date is one which provides a perfect final race challenge for those taking part in London Marathon, just weeks later. Also it is a great arena for those wishing to tackle the challenge of a Half Marathon for the first time. All finishers will also receive a race momento.
 

Following consultation with all the necessary and appropriate authorities. The race will be a mass start at 9am. The route is available on Google maps by clicking here

The route has been carefully planned to be enjoyable yet challenging, safety being the major consideration, whilst trying to cause minimal disruption to traffic and in particular local businesses.The event is a great chance to showcase the town, and show what Yeovil has to offer. There are many opportunities to get involved. 

Register on-line early to avoid disappointment, entry numbers are limited, for yourself or for charity.
Volunteer your services as a safety marshall, or at a drink station.
Business’ can help to promote the event by poster display etc.
Most important, simply come out and cheer on the athletes at the many vantage points along the route.
